Tembinkosi Ngcukana is a name that has been on everyone's lips lately. The new kid on the block burst onto the scene with his breakout role as Thulani Mxenge in the hit telenovela Gqeberha: The Empire.

Since then, he has captured the hearts of audiences across the country with his raw talent and undeniable charm.

Born in Umtata, and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Tembinkosi has always had a passion for acting. He started his journey in the performing arts at a young age, taking part in school plays and community/church theatre productions. 

It wasn't until he landed his role on Gqeberha: The Empire that he truly made his mark on the industry.

Playing the role of Thulani Mxenge, the young, death-defying diehard who has no choice but to live up to the family’s expectations, Tembinkosi has captivated audiences with his magnetic on-screen presence. 

His natural talent and ability to bring depth and authenticity to his character have earned him rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

For our weekly Unfiltered series, we had a chance to have a casual chat with Tembinkosi, he shared his personal experiences and some insight into his life, and the questions covered a range of topics from his personal style signifier to his favourite apps.
