Thatayaone Ditlhokwe talks about his move to Kaizer Chiefs

After signing a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs from SuperSport United, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has finally broke the silence on his move to the Soweto giants.

Speaking at the SuperSport United's annual awards ceremony, Ditlhokwe was a bit cagey about his move to Naturena owing to his existing contract with Matsatsantsa a Pitori which runs until the 30th of June 2023.

The Botswana international who has made 27 appearances in all competitions for SuperSport United this season, has alluded that the expectations that come with playing for a club of Chiefs' magnitude is something that he is looking forward to.

"I am a national team player and a captain as well so I don’t think there’s more pressure that can come more than what I have already passed through as I have also captained my national team at the age of 21.

It is a normal challenge that every player goes through and for you to grow, you must have challenges, you need to be tested as a player and I know this is a big test for me but at the end of the day I will manage the way I have always been managing," Ditlhokwe said.

Ditlhokwe also spoke about his personal aspirations to play overseas after his stint at Naturena.

"As a player from Botswana, my ambition was to come and play in South Africa then do my level best and come out of South Africa, do my best in each and every game, and then leave South Africa, that’s my aim," Ditlhokwe added.

The 23 year-old will be a major boost to Chiefs defence that conceded 39 goals in the just ended DStv Premiership season.

However, he will miss out on some continental football as SuperSport United will be playing in the CAF Confederations Cup next season while Chiefs once again missed out on that opportunity.
