20-year old Thapelo Maseko has become the latest player to join Mamelodi Sundowns from SuperSport United.

Maseko was one of the main targets of Sundowns, but they had to fight off interest from Belgian side KVC Westerlo, who had also submitted multiple offers to SuperSport United.

However, Sundowns and SuperSport United have now finally agreed on the transfer, which also see Grant Margerman move to Gavin Hunt's charges permanently.

With Sundowns looking to continue with their dominance both domestically and continentally, Maseko becomes the fourth signing for the Brazilians joining Lesiba Nku, Junior Mendieta and Lucas Costa ahead of the upcoming season.

Last season, the 20-year-old had a great spell with Matsatsantsa as they finished third on the DStv Premiership log standings to qualify for CAF Confederation Cup.

The versatile winger played 21 matches in all competitions and he found the back of the net four times and provided two assists in the process.

For his consistent performances on the field of play, he earned his first senior Bafana Bafana call-up for AFCON qualifiers against Morocco by coach Hugo Broos in June 2023.

At Sundowns, Maseko will face stiff competition for a place in the starting line-up as he will be competing with the likes of Lebohang Maboe, Gaston Sirino, Abubeker Nasir and Mendieta.
