Orlando Pirates will be without Patrick Maswanganyi for SuperSport United test

By Neo Poho

Orlando Pirates will be without the services of in-form midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi when they lock horns with SuperSport United on Saturday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Maswanganyi, who has been a key member of Pirates’ squad under the guidance of Jose Riveiro since signing from SuperSport during the off-season will serve a one-match suspension after receiving his fourth yellow card of the season against Golden Arrows last weekend.

With Maswanganyi having made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Sea Robbers this season and scored three goals while also providing three assists in the process, Riveiro will likely look to Kabelo Dlamini, Katlego Otladisa or Karim Kimvuidi to replace the Stars of Africa Academy graduate in the attacking midfield position.

Meanwhile, Pirates will also be looking to continue where they left off last weekend recording a 2-1 victory against Arrows to extend their six match unbeaten streak.

Kick-off at the Peter Mokaba Stadium is 15:30.
