Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have announced the signing of Thalente Mbatha and Thabiso Lebitso ahead of the 2023//24 DStv Premiership resumption in February.

Lebitso, formerly with Chippa United, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal as the 28-year-old shared his enthusiasm about joining the club.

"Joining Orlando Pirates is a significant milestone in my career, and I am eager to make a meaningful contribution to the team’s success,” Lebitso said.

Meanwhile, also joining the Sea Robbers is Mbatha from SuperSport United who has been signed on an initial six-month loan deal with an option to purchase at the end of the season.

"I am thrilled to be here and I can’t wait to start playing, I see this as a golden opportunity and intend to make the most of it," said Mbatha.

Orlando Pirates have also confirmed the departure of striker Eva Nga who leaves after a stint of one and a half season with the team.

"We extend our heartfelt thanks to him for his contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavours and as we bid farewell to Nga, we welcome back a familiar face in Tshegofatso Mabasa who re-joins the club after his loan spell at Moroka Swallows came to an end," Pirates said in a statement.
