"I need to go back and fix a couple of things" - Thembinkosi Lorch

After playing his first match since signing for Mamelodi Sundowns, attacking midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch has reflected on his debut conceding that he didn't have a good game however, he believes with time and more matches things will eventually come aright.

Lorch made his debut for the Brazilians over the past weekend against his former club, Orlando Pirates at a sold-out Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the Dstv Premiership.

With the spotlight on "Nyoso" as he is affectionally called by football fans, Orlando Pirates supporters didn't receive him well as they kept on booing at him whenever he would touch the ball.

"Ofcourse it was not easy for me playing against my former club, as you heard the supporters were booing everytime I would touch the ball nonetheless I am happy that I got an opportunity to play, I am just not happy with the result of the match and my overall perfomance.

I think I didn't have a good game so I need to go back and fix a couple of things and improve from this perfomance in order to live up to the expectations and ensure I help the team to do well, although there was a bit of pressure, our captain Ronwen Williams spoke with me and that really motivated me and proved that the team is behind me, coach Rulani Mokwena also spoke with me and reiterated that I should just be calm and play my normal football,"
Lorch said.

As the two sides played out to a 1-1 draw, Lorch was substituted in the second half of the match.

The 30-year-old skilled footballer will be looking to be in the starting XI again for Sundowns as they take on NB La Masia in the Nedbank Cup last 32 on Tuesday night at the Dobsonville Stadium.
