In his post match interview Broos, who was full of praise for his side expressed how proud he was of his team's performance on the night.

This is a very good team with very good players but we did the right analysis and the way we played, the tactic was the right one," Broos said.

With Bafana Bafana absorbing pressure from the Atlas Lions in the first half, Broos conceded that they were a bit too slow but managed to pick up the momentum in the second half.

After that, we were a bit lucky because Morocco started to play powerplay with their good players, high balls and very hard duels, so they had a few chances then but after the second goal it was over and we are in the quarterfinals," Broos added.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Abha FC head coach Pitso Mosimane has heaped praise on Broos and his technical team for leading Bafana Bafana to the quarterfinals of the 2023 AFCON.

"Credit to Hugo Broos and Helman Mkhalele, their team works very hard and they also tactically disciplined," Mosimane said.

Bafana Bafana next face Cape Verde in the quarterfinals on Saturday the 3rd of February 2024 at the Stade Charles Konan Banny de Yamoussoukro Stadium.
