Amakhosi's midfielder wanted by SuperSport United

SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews has confirmed that the club is interested in signing Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Nange who joined Chiefs from Stellenbosch FC in 2021 on a free transfer has been struggling with finding his form at Amakhosi due to lack of game time that has been caused by injuries and with the 31 year-old's contract ending in June, Matthews' sight is fixed on Nange's signature.

According to Matthews, Nange is a player that SuperSport would want to add in their squad amid concerns that the Tshwane based side might lose Thabang Sibanyoni, Grant Margeman and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe ahead of the new season.

Matthews also believes that the Kaizer Chiefs' midfielder reunion with Gavin Hunt will reap the much needed rewards for SuperSport United.

"He is a player that we would want to add to our squad but I need to know if he is free or not, if he is a free player and we can agree on terms with him then he is definitely someone who is interesting for us.

Gavin Hunt has worked with him at Bidvest Wits before and he likes him, they were even together at Chiefs and had a relatively fair season," Matthews said.

While SuperSport are interested in Nange's services, Matsatsantsa a Pitori are more likely to see goalkeeper Ricardo Goss return to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns in the new season.
