Celebrity Insight: Bonang Matheba has been breaking ground, and redefining the media landscape.

Today we review and reflect some of the information which is often ignored about this international Media personality. Bonang Dorothy Matheba hails from the North West province in the streets of Mafikeng. Bonang was born in 1987 and studied in fourways High School.
Career
Bonang or should I say Queen B as she is popularly known emerged in the media industry in the early 2000's. A rare Jewel and a force to be reckoned with. She turned heads and stirred up excitement with her husky voice, charisma and Tshwana vibe. While this fact may be arguable, Bonang paved the way and set the scope for television presenting as many that came after her channeled her presenting skills. However there can only be one queen B and the proof is in the pudding. She managed to grow from just being a television presenter on Live an SABC music show to being a radio host, reality TV Star, author, producer and business woman.
Queen B has hosted numerous award shows and prominent events notably being MTV Africa Music Awards 2016, Miss South Africa 2018, and hosted the pre-shows for the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards and BET Awards 2016. Bonang Also co-hosted the Global Citizen: Mandela 100 concert alongside comedian Trevor Noah, supermodel Naomi Campbell and other notable international public figures. What many people may not highlight is that Bonang has being breaking boundaries and opening doors for the African Continent in the showbiz and entertainment space:
First South African to host the pre-shows for the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards and BET Awards 2016
First South African to be the face of international Beauty brand Revlon
In 2015, she became the first African to be given an E! News Special Africa on E!
She became the first South African celebrity to launch an online reality show called B*Dazzled

Not only is Bonang big on our TV screens but she has has learned the art of maximizing on business opportunities and creating multiple streams of income. These are some of her business endeavors:
Bonang partnered with South African retail brand Woolworths, dropping a lingerie line "Distraction By Bonang", which is still ongoing as new collections were introduced
In 2018, Matheba alongside Superbalist, dropped a collection of T-shirts named "BONANG by Bonang Matheba". The T-shirts had famous Bonang quotes printed on them, including "Mo'ghel", "Give The People What They Want" and "#IAmBonang
On March 18, 2019, Matheba exclusively partnered with Woolworths in launching a range of luxury Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) called, "The House of BNG"
Bonang is the first black woman the first black woman to be added to the Méthode Cap Classique Association.
Charity
Not only is Bonang a gigantic media personality is also fond of giving back, she is the founder of the Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund, which aims to provide 300 young ladies an opportunity to tertiary education by the year 2025.
Bonang has cotributed so much in emancipating the voice of women in the media landscape and by the looks of things we can still expect more from Queen B.
