Zwane breaks the silence after violent scenes at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has finally broken the silence after he was escorted by the police during Kaizer Chiefs' 1-0 loss to SuperSport United last week Saturday at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.

Zwane suffered a minor injury in the eye due to the shield of the police who were trying to protect him after angry and frustrated Chiefs' supporters threw objects at him calling for the resignation of the Amakhosi mentor.

Speaking for the very first time after that horrific incident that happened last weekend, Zwane has reassured the team and the Chiefs supporters that the glory days will be reclaimed.

"I know how bad the supporters want things to improve and I understand because I have seen them supporting the team through thick and thin and we are also equally worried about the situation.

We want to make things better and most definitely, the time will come when they will be happy and when they will be smiling like others as well, they will definitely forget about days like these, we are just facing hiccups and challenges here and there but things will work out," Zwane said.

In a season that has seen Chiefs win 13 games in the league, draw five and lose 11 after 29 games, Zwane believes it was a learning curve in his maiden season as the head coach of the Glamour Boys.

"It's been a learning season, a very difficult one but also a season that one can say from a new squad and new technical team, it was not bad at all and we are looking to improve things and get better."

While Amakhosi face Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, the 20th of May for their last match of the season, Zwane is optimistic his side will end the season on a high note.

“I am looking forward to the game against Cape Town City over the weekend, one thing about us, is that we never stop hunting, we always play to win and we want to finish the season on a high," Zwane added.

Kick-off at the FNB Stadium on Saturday is 15:00 o'clock.
