Ahead of the new season Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa will return to the Sea Robbers after spending the previous season on loan with SuperSport United.

Lepasa joined SuperSport United during the 2023 January transfer window on a short loan spell until the end of the 2022/23 PSL campaign.

With both teams preparing for the 2023/24 campaign, Lepasa confirmed that he will be returning to Pirates via his Twitter page citing that he won't forget the big opportunity SuperSport United has given him to gain more game-time.

“This is one day I never looked forward to, having to officially say goodbye to what has become a home is extremely difficult.

“I have spent so much time with great people that welcomed me and made it easy for me to play and for that I won’t forget the opportunity I was given here at SuperSport United," Lepasa said.

During his tenure at the Tshwane-based side Lepasa made 10 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals in the process.

The Bafana Bafana international also received a Bafana Bafana call-up in their 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Liberia going all the way to help the team secure a spot in the tournament.

While he joins the Buccaneers for pre-season camp as the team will travel to Europe in Spain, Lepasa will once again face stiff competition for a place in the line-up.

Pirates are also likely to see Tshegofatso Mabasa, Boitumelo Radiopane and Kwame Peprah return to the side from their loan spells at Sekhukhune United, Cape Town Spurs and Maritzburg United respectively.
