"We are creating something special" - Dillan Solomons

Despite having another disastrous season, Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons believes Amakhosi are building something special.

Chiefs are currently occupying the fourth spot in the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season with 44 points after 29 matches having won 13, drawing five and losing 11 in the process.

Amakhosi just like in the past eight seasons have once again failed to win a trophy in the current DStv Premiership season and despite another season without a silverware, Solomons says they were determined to end the drought this campaign, but that did not happen.

“It was really heartbreaking not to win any silverware this season but you know these things happen in football and hopefully next season we can get some silverware.

One thing I am sure of is that we are building and creating something special and its only a matter of time and things will eventually shape up, we are anticipating a different season next season," Solomons said.

While under the guidance of head coach Arthur Zwane in the 2022/23 season, Chiefs also missed out on a chance to play continental football next season however, in the midst of all that Solomons is seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

The 26 year-old furthermore alluded that he believes he could have had a better season had he not suffered injuries along the way.

"Well I feel it was a good season for me but inconsistent too due to injuries but I really tried my best to adapt to the new environment and I think I did pretty well with that and hopefully next season will be even better," Solomons added.

The speedy defender featured in 25 matches in all competitions for the Glamour Boys scoring a goal and providing two assists in the process.

The former Swallows FC player will be keen on ending the season on a high note when Chiefs welcome Cape Town City on Saturday for their last league match of the season at the FNB Stadium.
