On March 11th, 2023, South African rapper Costa Titch, whose real name was Constantinos Tsobanoglou, passed away at the age of 27. The rapper had collapsed on stage during a performance at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg.

His family confirmed the news in a statement on social media and thanked the emergency responders and everyone present during his last hours. The statement asked for privacy for the family to gather themselves and make sense of the tragedy.

Ultra SA also released an official statement expressing their devastation at the sudden loss of the talented artist, who had been booked to perform at the launch of the Smirnoff Storm Room, a new entertainment platform for Amapiano and Afro-Tech music and culture.

Costa Titch, who originally started as a backup dancer, had transitioned into becoming a music artist after realizing that he had reached the pinnacle in dance and wasn't breaking through financially and 'internally'.
