Tiger on The Loose: No Evidence of its Wherabouts

By Tshegofatso Makola

Following reports of yet another tiger escape that emerged yesterday, the SPCA has declined to confirm the details of the tiger’s safety.

In what has become déja vu, the whereabouts of the roaming tiger in Edenvale is currently unknown.

The tiger, which is the second one for the province that has escaped, was caught via video footage that has been circulating over the past few days.

The footage showed the young tiger roaming around Edenvale, east of Johannesburg, on Monday morning.

Following this, various claims have been made of the tiger being located and sedated.

The Joburg Post investigated the incident, and we reached out to the SPCA for comment.

The organisation has since declined to confirm whether the tiger is safe and is alive, with SPCA Committee member, Jade de Bruyn expressing that the organisation has no proof of this information.

Following attempts to reach out to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Joburg Post has received no comment from the department.

This is a developing story. More updates to follow.
