The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League last 16 begins with a blockbuster of a match as Paris Saint-German welcome Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night while AC Milan hosts a wounded Tottenham Hotspur outfit.

Having advanced to the last 16 after finishing second in Group H on 14 points along with Benfica, PSG head into the clash against Bayern Munich having won 4 matches drawing 2 and losing none in the group stages.

With PSG being eliminated in the last 16 round last season going down to Real Madrid 3-2 on aggregate, Christophe Galtier's men should have learned from last season and fixed their mistakes in a bid to not let history repeat itself and actually advance through to the Quarterfinals.

FIFA World Cup champion Lionel Messi will look to emulate his heroics from the showpiece to the Champions League in a bid to help his side clinch the title along with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jnr.

Needing the Champions League title, PSG's best European performance was back in the 2019/20 season losing to Bayern Munich 1-0 in the final at Lisbon in Portugal.

Meanwhile Bayern Munich advanced to the last 16 after having a perfect run in Group B playing 6 matches and winning 6 with a goal difference of plus 16.

Bayern captain Thomas Müller is adamant that the German side will defeat PSG again although he believes the side has immensely improved.

"Meeting with PSG in the last 16 is a very big clash and it is always exciting to meet up with a team like PSG because the stakes are always high, PSG is undoubtedly the most exciting team offensively because of the quality the team has, it is never easy to be up against Messi, Neyamr Jnr. and Mbappe combined, but we are ready." Said Müller.

Bayern will be happy that star striker Sadio Mane has returned from injury that prevented him to participate in the FIFA World Cup last year, Mane who only scored 3 goals in the group stages will hope live up to the expectations and play an integral part in the PSG encounter.

Bayern head into this clash at the back of a Bundesliga victory defeating VFL Bochum 3-0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday while PSG lost to Monaco 3-1 at the Stade Louis Stadium.

In another last 16 encounter on Tuesday AC Milan will welcome Tottenham Hotspur at the San Siro Stadium.

Club Brugge will face Benfica on Wednesday while in another clash of the titans Borussia Dortmund will host Chelsea.
