Orlando Pirates' quest for a CAF Champions League spot continues when they welcome Royal AM on Wednesday afternoon at the Orlando Stadium however, the Buccaneers will be without the services of Kabelo Dlamini.

Dlamini is suspended from the match on Wednesday after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season during Pirates' 2-1 victory against TS Galaxy over the past weekend.

The attacking midfielder has been influential in the black and white colours of Orlando Pirates lately scoring crucial goals in crucial matches and also going on to provide a couple of assists for his teammates.

Having last scored a goal against Chippa United on the 8th of April 2023, Dlamini has also been a consistent player in Pirates' regular starting XI making 8 straight appearances in Pirates' last 8 matches in all competitions.

With Dlamini playing alongside the likes of Monnapule Saleng, Kermit Erasmus, Deon Hotto and Thembinkosi Lorch just to name a few, head coach Jose Riveiro is delighted with the way the 26 year old has matured in his style of play.

Riveiro has furthermore alluded that Dlamini plays a pivotal role in the Buccaneers set up especially when the team is on a transitional build up.

"Dlamini is a very important player for Orlando Pirates because he can help us in our build-up process and he can also read the game very well so I am happy with him and how he has improved his game, he also manages to score goals and that is important because his confidence also gets to be boosted," Riveiro said.

Dlamini who joined Pirates in 2019 from Bloemfontein Celtic also helped Pirates clinch the MTN 8 title last year when Pirates defeated AmaZulu 1-0 in the final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Despite missing out on the Royal AM clash on Wednesday, the right-footed player will be hoping to be available for selection when Pirates play against Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday the 6th of May 2023.
