Orlando Pirates hammer Sekhukhune United to advance to the MTN 8 semi-final

Orlando Pirates thrashed Sekhukhune United 5-0 at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening to book their spot in the MTN 8 semi-finals.

Zakhele Lepasa continued his fine goalscoring form, opening the scoring after 22 minutes after being set up by Patrick Maswanganyi.

Pirates continued with their dominance in the first half however, Sekhukhune United managed to keep them at bay with the two sides heading to halftime with the Sea Robbers leading 1-0.

Lepasa was at it again in the 56th minute scoring his and Pirates' second goal with Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo scoring the third goal in the 59th minute.

The hosts were on fire and Monnapule Saleng scored the fourth goal in the 61st minute to set the crowd into a frenzy as Pirates were on song to join Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals after the Tshwane based side defeated Moroka Swallows 1-0 earlier on during the day.

Pirates had a chance to make it five, but Lepasa skied a penalty instead of celebrating a hat-trick however, he finally completed his first-ever top flight hat-trick in the 88th minute as Pirates completed the riot in-front of their home fans.
