Monnapule Saleng receives 4 nominations for big PSL accolades

Orlando Pirates' in-form midfielder Monnapule Saleng has received four nominations for the upcoming 2022/23 PSL Awards.
The left-footed winger has had an excellent season with the Buccaneers since re-joining the club from a season loan at Swallows FC.
Saleng who guided Pirates to the 2022 MTN 8 title after scoring a brace against Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of the semi-finals and also scoring the winning goal in the final against AmaZulu, is nominated for the MTN 8 last man standing award alongside fellow teammate Miguel Timm and AmaZulu's George Maluleka.
The 25 year-old is also nominated for two big DStv Premiership awards in the form of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership midfielder of the year and the 2022/23 DStv Premiership player's player award.
In both categories, the Pirates winger is up against Mamelodi Sundowns players as the other nominees for the midfielder of the year are Teboho Mokoena and Themba Zwane while Zwane and Ronwen Williams are the other two nominees for the player's player of the season award.
The former Orbit College, Free State State and Swallows FC player is also nominated for the PSL footballer of the season award alongside Sundowns' Mokoena and Williams.
In other notable categories, Sundowns' coach Rulani Mokwena is nominated along with Pirates' mentor Jose Riveiro and SuperSport United's Gavin Hunt for the coach of the season award.
While Sundowns' Williams is a hot favourite for the goalkeeper of season accolade with SuperSport United's Ricardo Goss and Richards Bay's Salim Magoola being the other two nominees.
Stellenbosch FC's Iqraam Rayners will fight with Pirates' Miguel Timm and Sekhukhune United's Edwin Gyimah for the Nedbank Cup player of the tournament award.
