Monnapule Saleng leads the contribution statistics for the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season

Following an impressive DStv Premiership season, Orlando Pirates' Monnapule Saleng has finished the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season as the leading contributor in the league ahead of Sundowns' Peter Shalulile and Stellenbosch FC's Iqraam Rayners.
Saleng ended his season with another spectacular performance for Pirates in their 4-0 victory against AmaZulu over the past weekend scoring Pirates' third goal of the match and also providing two assists in the process.
That performance saw the left footed winger move to 8 assists in the campaign while taking his goal scoring tally to 11 goals, one short of being among the top goal-scorers' list of Khanyiso Mayo and Peter Shalulile.
Since scoring his first two goals for Pirates in their 2-0 win over Golden Arrows on the 18th of October 2022, Saleng has been very consistent for the Sea Robbers in his 22 appearances by being directly involved in 19 Orlando Pirates goals.
The stellar display from the 25 year-old every week, has also seen the former Swallows FC player being nominated for the 2022/23 PSL footballer of the year accolade alongside the Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Teboho Mokoena and Ronwen Williams.
Immediately after Saleng, Stellenbosch FC' playmaker Junior Mendieta becomes the second highest contributor in the DStv Premiership 2022/23 season, with a total of 9 goals and 8 assists taking his overall tally to 17 goal involvements.
Nedbank Cup player of the tournament nominee, Iqraam Rayners finished the season as the third highest contributor with nine goals and seven assists to take his total overall tally to 16 goal involvements.
The top five list is concluded by Mamelodi Sundowns' Peter Shalulile and Cape Town City' Khanyiso Mayo with Shalulile scoring 12 goals and providing three assists to contribute a total of 15 goal involvements while Mayo also has 12 goals but he was only able to provide two assists to take his overall tally to 14 goal involvements.
