Terrence Dzvukamanja's agent Mike Makaab has confirmed that the Zimbabwean international has been released by the club.

"It is true that they have released him, it is also true that final bits and pieces are being put into place for his move to SuperSport United," Makaab said.

With Orlando Pirates also releasing a statement revealing that Dzvukamanja had asked the club to release him due to wanting to play in Zimbabwe in order to address pressing family matters, Makaab said he will not comment further on the club’s statement, other than to thank chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza.

“I would rather not comment about the statement, and I would rather not comment about the matter too much because it is sensitive and it’s not as simple as it seems but I would like to say that I have always enjoyed an incredible and honest relationship with the Pirates chairman.

Therefore I thank the chairman for his sensitivity towards the issues that had developed over the past few weeks and I would rather leave it at that and thank Orlando Pirates for the opportunity they gave to Terrence Dzvukamanja, I would also like to thank the supporters to remember what Terrence did for them towards the end of his contract," Makaab added.

Dzvukamanja joined Pirates from Bidvest Wits, where he worked with Gavin Hunt, in 2022 and made 76 appearances for the Buccaneers, scoring 16 goals in the process

Eight of those goals came last season, when he made the number 9 spot his own and also scored the winner in the Nedbank Cup final against Sekhukhune United.
