"I am not going to give up that easily" - Arthur Zwane

Despite Kaizer Chiefs' DSTV Premiership 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United on Sunday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, head coach Arthur Zwane insists he will fight until the end.

Chiefs' loss to Sekhukhune was their 9th of the season and their second at the hands of Brandon Truter's side after going down 1-0 to Babina Noko on the 7th of January.

The loss also means Chiefs are likely to be mathematically out of the chase for the CAF Champions League spot with four matches remaining in the league so far.

Even though that may be the case for Amakhosi, the 49 year old has insisted that he will not throw in the towel as yet in the quest for a top two finish.

"I am one person that does not give up easily, this is football and anything can happen at any given time, we may have dropped points and that is a bit of a setback but I am not going to give up on the chase as yet," Zwane said.

Amakhosi created numerous chances to restore parity and also seal the victory in the encounter however, lack of composure in the final third let the team down as the encounter ended with Sekhukhune coming out victorious.

Languishing fourth on the log and yet to still play Chippa United, Swallows FC, SuperSport United and Cape Town City, Amakhosi's mentor believes his side can still conjure up something to qualify for the CAF Champions League next season.

"It's one of those things that you never know what is going to happen because every team is fighting for either a top 8 finish, CAF spot and even relegation so it's not over as yet.

The four remaining games are very important to us and we will play every game with the mentality of wanting to win it, unfortunately there is no easy game now therefore we will work hard to get the desired result," Zwane added.

Amakhosi are also still in contention for the Nedbank Cup triumph after advancing to the semi-finals of the tournament where they will meet arch-rivals Orlando Pirates on the 6th of May 2023.

Before that they will meet with Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the 27th of April and Swallows FC on the 1st of May 2023 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
