Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named his 23-man squad to face Morocco in the final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on the 17th of June 2023 at the FNB Stadium.

Broos once again opted to populate the squad with Mamelodi Sundowns' players as a total of 8 players were selected from the reigning DStv Premiership champions.

Captain Ronwen Williams will once again lead the side as he is the no.1 choice goalkeeper ahead of Veli Mothwa and Ricardo Goss.

After having a great season with Orlando Pirates in the just ended 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign, Nkosinathi Sibisi along with Innocent Maela are the two defenders from the Buccaneers side in the squad while Thapelo Morena, Aubrey Modiba, Grant Kekana and Mothobi Mvala headline Bafana's defence from Sundowns with Siyanda Xulu and Sydney Mobbie completing Broos' backline.

2022/23 PSL footballer of the year Teboho Mokoena will look to be influential in the middle of the park along with Njabulo Blom, Luke Le Roux and Bathuis Aubaas while Themba Zwane and Monnapule Saleng were also selected.

Heroes during the 2-1 victory at Liberia on the 28th of March 2023, Zakhele Lepasa and Mihlali Mayambela were once again chosen by the Belgian tactian with Percy Tau, Thapelo Maseko, Cassius Mailula and Bongokuhle Hlongwane completing the forwards department.

Both sides head into the encounter with Morocco at the summit of the group with 6 points while Bafana Bafana are the runners-up with 4 points.

A win for Broos' side will see them leapfrog the Atlas Lions into obtaining the number one spot in group K.

Kick-off at the FNB Stadium on Saturday the 17th of June is at 17:00 o'clock South African time.
