Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has outlined the important role attacking midfielder Kabelo Dlamini plays in the Bucs team.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic player has seen himself form part of Riveiro's starting XI in the past five matches while also scoring a goal the last time out when Pirates defeated Chippa United 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

With Pirates being consistent lately with their winning streak of five consecutive wins across all competitions, Riviero has heaped much of the praise to Dlamini.

“We have a lot of quality in our front department, and I am not going to discuss Lorch now but probably Dlamini because people sometimes don’t realise how important he is for us, he plays a very important role in helping us with our build-ups when attacking the opposition team.

"I am honestly happy for him because on Saturday he managed to get one goal which is going to be very important for him in the future," Riveiro said.

Dlamini who joined Pirates in 2019 has made 72 appearances for the Buccaneers so far scoring 4 goals in the process and also being part of the squad that won the MTN 8 cup last year.

The 26 year old who has a talented right foot and a great vision for beautiful passes in the box has collaborated perfectly with Thembinkosi Lorch and Monnapule Saleng upfront for the Buccaneers and Riveiro describes the combination as a deadly one.

"I am glad that we are now scoring goals and they are coming from our attackers, this shows that there is growth and maturity in the team, we are working towards improving how we execute our game plan every time and I am pleased with our deadly attack upfront," Riveiro added.

Riveiro will be eager to see Dlamini score more goals going forward, especially in their next game where they meet ABC Motsepe League side Dondol Stars in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

With Pirates also still in contention for the runners up spot in the DSTV Premiership, Dlamini will want to add more goals to his goalscoring tally and help his side get over the line in the remaining five matches.

Kick-off at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday is 15:00.
