The plot thickens in the Thabo Bester escape saga, following Dr Nandipha Magudumana and five other suspects’ brief appearance in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court. In what was expected to be the formal bail application, Magudumana declined to apply for bail.

South Africa’s very own suspect-turned beauty Queen, Dr Nandipha Magudumana made the surprising decision to not apply for bail today.

Magudumana who stands accused of aiding an offender escape lawful custody, alongside the other suspects, appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court today.

This is the second time she and her five co-accused appear for formal bail application.

With Magudumana having decided to not apply for bail, her matter will be rolled over to 16 May 2023. This will be the same day where all the accused suspects, including the Facebook rapist himself will appear in the dock.

Meanwhile, today’s proceedings saw the acting Chief Magistrate,  Lindiwe Mbassa clarify the rules that would be in place for the media.

Bail proceedings would be broadcasted, however the faces of the witnesses would not be allowed to be shown.
