Du Preez scored a magnificent winner for Amakhosi after being picked out by Reeve Frosler with a long ball and then beat two defenders before putting it in the top corner.

The 25 year old becomes Chiefs' second player to win a Goal of the Month award this season, joining Yusuf Maart who won it in September/October for his long range goal against Orlando Pirates in the first Soweto derby of the three the two teams played last season.

Du Preez's  goal will automatically be added to the PSL Awards 2023 goal of the season nominees list, joining Themba Zwane, Phillip Ndondlo and Lantshane Phalane for winning the January/February, August and March respectively goal of the month's accolades.

Meanwhile, Surprise Ralani's goal against Maritzburg United won the goal of the month for May after a great team build-up and an even more exceptional assist from Neo Maema in the process.

The winners of the Goal of the Month award will each receive a trophy and R7 000 courtesy of the league sponsors, DStv.
