Billiat injury woes continue

By Neo Poho

Khama Billiat has once again been ruled out of action for a couple of months due to injury with the Soweto Derby encounter last year October being the last time he was in action for Amakhosi.

In a very rough season so far for Billiat it seems as though his season has ended with the league coming to a close in May.

The injury setback that was confirmed by coach Arthur Zwane comes at the worst time for Billiat who had justified returned to training and getting ready to be back in action.

Coach Arthur Zwane mentioned that for now the team is awaiting feedback from the medical staff as to how long will Billiat be sidelined how Zwane hinted that we won't be seeing Billiat anytime soon.

"He is struggling and it hasn't been easy for him, the negative impact that these injuries have on him is that he hasn't had a good season either and it will take time for him to regain his form, for now we are just waiting for feedback from the medical team," Zwane said.

With the 33 year old's contract about to end at the end of this season, it is still unclear whether Chiefs will renew his contract or not considering his poor form of late, his age and lack of game time due to back to back injuries.

Amakhosi next face Royal AM in a DSTV Premiership encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday the 29th of January 2023, kick off is at 17:30.
