Bayern entertain Manchester City while Chelsea welcome Madrid in the last 8

Chelsea and Manchester City are on a Champions League collision course but both must get past tough quarter-final ties if they are to meet in the semi-final.

In a repeat of last season's quarter-final clash Chelsea will meet defending champions Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League once again as the draw for the last 8 took place on Friday at Nyon in Switzerland.

The 14 time Champions League winners Real Madrid, progressed to the quarter-finals after defeating Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate while Chelsea went through after edging Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the last 16 tie.

With Graham Potter's charges still trying to find their feet under the English man, Real Madrid will be licking their fingers as the day of the first leg draws ever so closer.

Meanwhile in what is arguably the headline tie of the last 8, Manchester City will face Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in a two-legged match.

Pep Guardiola's side managed to progress to the last eight comfortably on Tuesday night courtesy of a stunning performance from Norwegian forward Erling Haaland.

Haaland scored five goals as City crushed RB Leipzig 7-0 on the night with the two remaining goals coming from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne.

Meanwhile Bayern will look to take another Champions League giant down after already eliminating PSG in the 16, in what promises to be an exciting fixture that will have football loving fans at the edge of their seats, the winner of the City and Bayern clash will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

The other quarter-finals encounter see an all-Italian affair between Napoli and AC Milan while Inter-Milan will entertain Benfica in the last quarterfinal clash.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will take place during the week of the 11th of April 2023 with the second legs scheduled for the week of the 18th of April 2023.
