Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies football team have won their second successive match of the 2023 SAFA Women's League also known as the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Sundowns who are the defending champions of the league defeated Ma-Indies ladies football team 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Groenkloof Stadium in Pretoria.

Sundowns were on the back foot early in the encounter as Ma-Indies broke the deadlock in the opening 10 minutes of the match through Molatelo Thabana's goal, that lead was short lived though as Banyana Ba Style restored parity in the 28th minute with a Miche Minnies goal.

The two sides then went into halftime even at 1-1, during the second half it was only a matter of time before Sundowns would switch on the gears and take control of the encounter.

That proved to be the case as striker Lelona Daweti scored Sundowns' second goal of the match much to the delight of coach Jerry Tshabalala.

Ma-Indies tried to create chances of their own in a bid to come back however, Banyana Ba Style put the final nail in the coffin through a beautiful finish by Melinda Kgadiete late in the second half.

The victory means that Banyana Ba Style have now recorded their second 3 points of the season after defeating Richmond United last week.

Jerry Tshabalala's charges are still occupying the first spot on the log with 6 points after two matches while Ma-Indies ladies football team are languishing on position 15 of the Hollywoodbets Super League after two matches with no points.

Although it is still very early to count the eggs before they hatch but the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies football team looks set to continue with their fine form and clinch a record 6th title of the SAFA Women's League.
