AmaZulu Humble Chiefs

5th Placed AmaZulu secured their first win ever over Amakhosi in Durban for 24 years when they thrashed Arthur Zwane's men 4-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last night.

AmaZulu started like a house on fire as Dumisani Zuma came back to haunt his former employers in the 14th minute after capitalizing on a poorly defended corner to give Usuthu the lead.

Kaizer Chiefs were then almost immediately given a chance to restore parity after Forward Ashley Du Preez was fouled in the box by Abbubaker Mobara however Veli Mothwa saved the spot kick from Caleb Bimenyimana.

George Maluleka then combined with Ramahlwe Mphahlele in the 37th minute to give Usuthu the two goal lead much to the disappointment of Chiefs conceding from a set piece again.

On a night where Arthur Zwane would have hoped for an "A" game from his defenders Edmilson Dove added more woes to Zwane's charges as a poor back pass to goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was intercepted by Junior Dion for his first goal of the season.

With Amakhosi trying to get back in the game during the second half by applying pressure with waves of attack, Bonginkosi Ntuli completed the drubbing in the 92th minute.

Reflecting on the loss, Zwane blamed poor decision making by his players as one of the reasons the result went in favour of AmaZulu.

"We put them in the back foot here and there and just poor decision making in the final third cost us, I think had we scored the penalty then it would have been a different ball game."

Amakhosi have now conceded 20 goals in the campaign while going another match without a goal, "We keep on conceding from our own mistakes and unfortunately whenever we make a mistake we always get punished, its one of those days I would like to forget especially for the players because I think they tried their level best but it wasn't to be" Zwane said.

The Glamour Boys face another daunting task when they tackle Log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns next weekend.
