Amakhosi injury update: Mduduzi Shabalala

By Neo Poho

After being substituted during Halftime at the Nedbank Cup last 32 against Maritzburg United, Kaizer Chiefs coach and the medical team were stressed about the injury Mduduzi Shabalala had suffered on his knee.

Shabalala was knocked by United captain Travis Graham late in the first half with the latter given his marching orders after the incident.

However, the latest from the Khosi camp is that the medical staff have announced that Shabalala's injury is not as serious as they thought.

This means that coach Arthur Zwane can breathe a sight of relief considering the long injury list Chiefs have, Shabalala is also expected to be part of Amakhosi's home match at Polokwane against Golden Arrows on Sunday afternoon.

Shabalala's agent Mike Makaab furthermore confirmed that Shabalala is well and it was just a minor injury.

"It was a dead leg and I can confirm that Shabalala has now fully recovered, he got caught high up on the leg and when you have a dead leg it is very difficult to walk on it, let alone run freely,"  Makaab said.

Meanwhile Amakhosi's physiotherapist David Milner has confirmed the midfielder Cole Alexander will be back in training this month after being on the sidelines for almost a month.

While Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons are still unavailable due to injury.
