Agent not sure about the future of Pirates' youngster

Orlando Pirates' youngster Boitumelo Radiopane's agent Mike Makaab has revealed that it is currently not clear whether Radiopane will return to Cape Town Spurs or remain at Orlando Pirates.

Radiopane joined Cape Town Spurs at the beginning of 2022/23 season on loan from Pirates after he had an incredible season with the club’s DStv Diski Challenge team, scoring 24 goals during the 2021/22 season.

While on loan at Spurs, Radiopane scored seven goals after joining the team at a later stage due to an injury setback.

With his loan coming to an end at the end of June 2023, Radiopane's agent has given an update on the 20-year-old's future.

"At this point it is not clear where is he going because the fact is that he is not going to be able to play for a while now due to injury.

So the best thing for him to do now is undergo his rehabilitation in an environment where he is close to home so that he can speed up the process of his recovery" Makaab said.

Radiopane suffered a horrible injury during Cape Town Spurs' first game of the promotion play-offs against Casric Stars at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium earlier on this year and his injury will see him being sidelined for at least two to three months, which means he will miss the pre-season and likely the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Meanwhile, Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett has revealed that he would like to keep Radiopane at the club as they start to prepare for their return to the DStv Premiership.

"We have already indicated that we would like to keep Radiopane, that conversation though will obviously start between management and his club and see if the possibility of him returning to us for next season will happen or not," Bartlett said.
