Media statement spring camps running for NW matriculants

Spring camps for Grade 12 learners in the North West Department of Education have started on Friday, 30th September 2022. 
The camps serve as revision and to bridge content gaps in all subjects for learners.

A total of  30 224 learners will benefit from these sessions. 

Venues utilised across the province are 102 of which 70 are residential camps while 32 are walk ins. 

Camps will take place until Thursday, 06 October 2022 while few will end on the 8th and 9th October.
 
MEC for Education in the North West assures parents that learner safety throughout the camps will be prioritised. 

“On behalf of the Department I would like to thank teachers and learners for availing themselves for these camps.  I would like to encourage parents to allow learners to come for the camps and study with their peers in order for them to fully understand their content, revise, and learn with others. 

"Our camps are boarding, and walk ins. Meals will be provided for learners and I assure parents of learner safety throughout the duration of the camps.”, said Matsemela.

The department has provided generators that will  be running as backup power in case of loadshadding. 

MEC Matsemela is expected to visit the following school camps namely; Kutlwanong Special school, Oom Paul Special school and Hoerskool Tegniese on Tuesday, 04 October 2022.
