Parliament, led by the Speaker of the National Assembly  Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Amos Masondo have received the final parts of the State Capture Commission report from the President .

The President has committed that he will, within the four months stipulated in line with the directive of the High Court, formally present to Parliament the full report of the Commission together with an indication of his intentions on the implementation of the Commission’s recommendations.

The President appreciated that Parliament will need to engage in its own processes on the recommendations that affect it directly, especially from Volumes 1 and 2 of Part 5 as well as Volume 2 of Part 6.

In a statement Parliament further said that “While waiting for the President to submit his final report and implementation plan within four months, it will, in the interim, seek legal opinion on the appropriate processing of these parts of the report received. The Presiding Officers have already referred several serving MPs mentioned in the parts of the Report previously submitted by the President to the parliamentary Ethics Committee, as recommended”.
