Veteran Actress Shaleen Surtie-Richards dies at Age 66.

Veteran actress Shaleen Surtie-Richards who has graced South Africa screens for year has died at the age of 66,  Details surrounding her death are still unknown. A representative from Elysian Management confirmed the news to TshisaLIVE but said further details would be released after meeting with Surtie-Richard's family. The representative added that they were in a state of shock and were still processing the news

Richards had a starring role in Egoli: Place of Gold, South Africa's first television soap opera. She appeared in most of the show's 18-year run as Ester (Nenna) Willemse. She has also appeared in a number of other South African television programmes, including the soap opera's 7de Laan, Villa Rosa, and Generations.[1] In 2000, she hosted her own talk show, Shaleen, on South Africa's M-Net channel. Surtie-Richards was also a judge on the reality competition television series Supersterre from 2006-2010
