Minister Nathi Mthethwa Extends Condolences To Family Of Emmanuel ‘Mjokes’ Matsane.

 Minister Nathi Mthethwa extends his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans of Emmanuel ‘Mjokes’ Matsane
It is with great sadness that the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture has learnt of the untimely passing of Emmanuel Mojalefa ‘Mjokes’ Matsane, who passed away in a car accident on Sunday morning 23 May 2021, after a performance in Soweto.

Matsane was a co-director of Kalawa Jazzme Records and carved his seminal career in music as a member of the iconic Kwaito group, Trompies. Minister Nathi Mthethwa said, “Mjokes was part of a collective that created a unique musical genre for South Africa. His contribution to the development of Kwaito and the music industry are notable life achievements”.

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, fans and the music industry at large.
