The Johannesburg Metro Police Department has reported a shooting incident on the M1 north Woodhead exit on Wednesday afternoon. The road has been closed off to traffic due to the crime scene. According to Crime In SA, four Suspects have been arrested and one suspect was fatally wounded during a shootout between the robbers and the Police.

Ten gunmen allegedly opened fire on a moving vehicle, forcing it to stop on the highway. Police received a tip-off regarding the planned robbery which then resulted in a shoot-out altercation between them and the robbers.

 JMPD has warned motorists to expect heavy traffic delays. Motorists are also advised to avoid using the Pretoria Main Rd & Western Service Rdas alternatives
