The five men accused of killing Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa appeared at the Boksburg Magistrate court on Friday morning. The court has ruled that the trial will be on the 25th of October and the pretrial hearings will take place on the 19th of July. All of the men are currently behind bars serving sentences for different crimes, while others are still awaiting trial. 

Meyiwa was shot and killed in 2014 while visiting his girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus. Present in the house on the day of the incident was  Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandi Khumalo, their mother Ntombi, Longwe Twala, Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala, and Kelly’s then four-year-old son and her daughter with Senzo.
