Ever heard of I didn't know what to do, the situation forced me or I want to do it but circumstances do not allow. Many people have found comfort in hiding under the shadow of these two statements. 

 In many occasions we take on a passive role in decision making so that should the chickens come home to roost we find solace in knowing that circumstances decided on our behalf as if we are separable from them. Our double standards are comical because when those very decisions work in our favor we claim victory and glory, and even go on further to label the actions as intentional.

As cliché as it may sound  the power lies in your hands. The last month of  a very hectic  year has dawned and as companies slowly transition into closing shop and schools  fold the academic calendar many people are chasing nothing but the high of relief. In which ever way we may view it, we all feel like we deserve a break after all as a country, continent , world and specie we have walked through a burning a furnace. Many people lost loved ones, others lost jobs and some were forced to temporarily or permanently shut the doors of their business. 2020 has been  a turbulent ride. 

Such "eye of the storm moments such as the festive season birth reckless acts as means of celebrating triumphs and strides. However  It is in these very  moments where reckless spending resulted from poor financial planning and also bad life style decisions are birthed. As uttered above, while we may want to hide in saying these decisions are a biproduct of circumstances however we hold the key to the door of decision making only we can decide what needs to happen and how it must.  No one and nothing is responsible for your actions, unless it's at gun point even so the decision to yield is still yours . 

In the first Friday of the last month, I say in the midst of the festive hype be conscious of the decisions you make whether it be financial or pertaining to any facets of life.
