Covid-19 Vaccine Rollout Is Expected To Start On Wednesday.

It is another important day for  South Africa as the Health Department prepares for the arrival of the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine. Last week Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize announced that the vaccine would arrive this week. The South African Medical Association has confirmed that the vaccine is due to arrive this Tuesday. 

The vaccination rollout is expected to start on Wednesday in identified health institutions. First in line to be vaccinated will the front line workers. 

During the State of The Nation Address, President Ramaphosa said South Africa is expecting a batch of 80,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine this week. More so he mentioned that that further consignment will arrive over the next four weeks, which will bring the overall Johnson & Johnson vaccination doses to a total of 500,000.
