In partnership with the Soweto Theatre, Sifiso Khanyile brings the 8th Chapter of the Live Experience. This comes after a successful run of this annual event that was last staged at The Joburg Theatre in 2019. This year’s event will take place on Friday the 30th April 2021 at Soweto Theatre.

The Pietermaritzburg born dynamic musician describes his music as African, with influences of jazz, soul and other styles from around the world. Sifiso’s musical journey comes from way back when he studied music at Durban University of Technology, majoring in Voice, Composition, Arranging and Harmony. Since then he has never looked back, his professional musical footsteps can be traced back from the multi award winning gospel group Joyous Celebration to the many world renowned artists that he has worked with such as Judith Sephuma, Sibongile Khumalo, Jimmy Dludlu, Thandiswa Mazwai and many others.

“This is very exciting for me as I will be performing at the Soweto Theatre for the first time. People always look forward to the Live Experience concept every year and this year I want to make it more exciting and memorable. I will be showcasing my growth as a musician and the results of my continuous exploration of new sounds. As my contribution to the development of the arts industry, we will also hold a workshop to empower upcoming musicians”, says Sifiso.

This year’s event will be featuring Sifiso’s music from his previous works and will also include new material. This promises to be a night to remember where the audience can enjoy great music that South Africa is known for. Sifiso’s sounds are drawn from different inspirations, from the sounds of his childhood to influences from around the world.

“We are so excited to be partnering with Sifiso once again and hosting him at the Soweto Theatre for the first time. Having been part of his Live Experience journey and seeing what he has in store for the audience in terms of costume, set design and lighting, we felt that it’s time we take this show to a bigger yet intimate venue which Sifiso is well known for.”, says the producer for the Joburg City Theatres, Lindiwe Lekasapa.
