A prominent kwaito musician  Nomsa Maswanganyi popular known as Mshoza  has died at the age of 37. Mshoza is known for being one of the first female musicians to break into the kwaito genre in the early 2000's  hence many both regard and refer to her as the First Lady of Kwaito.

In a Tweet  The  Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) confirmed the news saying

Mshoza is also known for releasing hit singles which topped the charts such as Kortes and Ayna'Chorus. The musician is also remembered for being vocal about gender based violence and also came out to share about her own intimate partner violence in 2018.

She is survived by her two children Pride Mnisi and Jacob Junior Mnisi. fellow musicians as well as the public flooded social media with tributes as well condolences to Mshoza's family.
