ANC SG Ace Magashule Was Granted Bail Amounting to R200 000 At The Bloemfontein Magistrates Court.

The Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC) handed himself over to the Hawks ahead of his court appearance on Friday morning . Masses dressed in ANC T-shirts gathered outside Bloemfontein Magistrate court to show their support and solidarity to Magashule.  

 Represented by advocate Laurence Hodes  Magashule was granted bail amounting to R200 000. He is facing 20 counts including fraud, corruption, money-laundering and Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA). 

Magashule was served with a warrant of arrest on Tuesday and is facing corruption charges an alleged multi-million rand asbestos project in the Free State, with claims that he scored up to R10 million in the deal.

 
 
ANC officials and members such as Mayor of Ekurhuleni Mzandile Masina , Former North West Premier Supra Mahumapeo and Melusi Gigaba showed up to support the SG saying that they believe in his innocence.

Speaking to ENCA  ANC spokesperson Dakota Legoete said he was there as an individual, also as a leader of the ANC, to come and support the secretary-general of the ANC. Further more to also ensure that " there is sanity, there is stability, all members of the ANC must be in line and in order. We are here to ensure that this particular situation and circumstances, do not bring more pain to the African National Congress."
