Toyota SA Ups Security On Etios And Yaris, Tweaks Aygo Line-up

By Joburg Post

Toyota South Africa Motors has announced a handful of updates for its compact vehicle range, adding security features to its Etios and Yaris line-ups, and tweaking its Aygo range.

The Yaris benefits from what the local arm of the Japanese firm describes as “an upgraded anti-theft system”, while the Xs, Sport and Cross variants gain rear parking sensors as standard.

The Etios line-up – comprising both hatchback and sedan body styles – similarly scores an "upgraded security system", which includes an alarm and immobiliser.

And the Aygo? Well, Toyota SA says two new derivatives have joined the range, each boasting bespoke colour combinations. The Aygo X-Play Silver model has been replaced by a new “X-Clusiv” variant (offered in black and priced at R174 800), which features a silver finish for the A-pillar, and a combination of Quartz Grey and Piano Black interior trim. The interior door handles now feature chrome plating while foglamps have been added to the standard specification level.

The Aygo X-Cite, meanwhile, can now be ordered with an orange-hued canvas top. This new colour can be paired with any of the six existing exterior colours: white, silver, ash grey, cherry red, Caribbean blue and black. As before, buyers can also opt for the X-Cite Black, which features a black folding roof. The Aygo X-Cite is priced at R198 900, regardless of roof colour.
