Anc Womens League Lauds Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma For 2017 Africa Energy Forum Lifetime Achievement Award Nomination

The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) released a statement to congratulate its ANC NEC member Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma for her nomination to receive Africa Energy Forum (AEF) lifetime achievement award to be hosted in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 7 to 9 June 2017.

AEF will honour Cde Nkosana for her indisputable role and as a trailblazer in the upliftment and empowerment of women across the African Continent. Dr Nkosazana's commitment and dedication in improving the lives of the poor and the working class has earned her several local and international awards. During her tenure as African Union Chairperson, Dr Nkosazana championed a strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the African continent over the next 50 years, which seeks to accelerate the implementation of past and existing continental initiatives for growth and sustainable development.

Her long service in the ANC structures at all levels have enabled Dr Nkosazana an ideal candidate to unite the ANC to regain its ground as the leader of the society and lead the struggle to advance the National Democratic Revolution which is biased to the poor and the working class. Her distinguished leadership skills are more required during the era of fundamentally changing the structure, systems, institutions and patterns of ownership, management and control of the economy in favour of all South Africans, especially the poor, the majority of whom are African and youth and women.

Dr Nkosazana's indisputable experience in African Union and South African cabinet has armed her with expertise in governance required to intensified the fight against fraud and corruption, reaffirms the rule of law in the country and to address the challenges of inequality, unemployment and poverty in South Africa. With her commitment and dedication to education and health, unreservedly she support acceleration of the implementation of National Health Insurance Scheme and the realisation of free access to free education from primary level to undergraduate studies. Her understanding of the plight of the landless South Africans makes her to unreservedly support the speedy implementation of land redistribution.

The ANCWL reaffirms its position that Dr Nkosazana is an ideal candidate to lead the ANC leadership collective post December 2017 and lead the State in 2019 and fast track the implementation of land and economic freedom in our lifetime.

The ANCWL congratulates Dr Nkosazana for the AEF awards.  She is a tried and tested cadre of the ANC who serves with humility, integrity and selflessness.
