Who are two most favourite Joburg residents for you and why?

I have 6, Patrice Motsepe (business icon /philanthropist and hope for black people) my boss who believes and trusts in me; Jomo Sono, without him discovering me, life would be different for me. Screamer Tshabalala, was with Jomo and had a big input in helping to bring me to Cosmos and Sundowns and my teacher of understanding the ins and outs of SA football (the wittiest and wisest person in SA football), I am yet to beat him in this game; Irvin Khoza, football business icon , also witty and foresees many things in Football; Kaizer Motaung, transformed football in SA when he started Chiefs, grew up admiring him as a person of dignity; Peter Malungani, a big brother and , thinker and my idol , and Mike Ntombela, my role model.

 

What’s your earliest memory of the city?

Rockville Township, (section of a township within Soweto) Seeing infrastructure, modern houses for black people.

What’s your favourite iconic feature about the city?

City of Johannesburg, Carlton Center in Commissioner Street.

What makes the city special for you?

City of Gold, City where icons lived, (The above mentioned names, Nelson Mandela, Bishop Tutu, Cyrill Ramaphosa, Leepile Taunyane , Khalema Motlhante, Gibson Kente, Sipho Mabuse, Brenda Fassie , Chico Thwala, Mike Mangena , Pine Chabedi, Senyakaka, Scara Sono etc

What is a must do and see in the Joburg?

Apartheid Museum, Orlando Stadium (my professional football debut stadium)

What’s the most underrated place in the city?

Alexandra Township, produced lots of icons and has lots of SA history of black people and still harbour lots of migrants from other provinces.
